Back in the spring of 1974 a young accountant by the name of Mike Jones broke new ground by starting up in business for himself. In 1999, as part of celebrating a quarter of a century in business we again broke new ground with the formation of Emjay drawing on the experience of the last quarter century to prepare for the next.
The concept behind Emjay is to bring together all the necessary resources to give a fully comprehensive and integrated service to our clients. In essence by doing what we are best at it releases you to do what you are best at.
The services we provide at Emjay go beyond the traditional role of accountants into the arena of the total business solution. We focus upon an ongoing relationship with all our clients and a constant commitment to adapting and changing emphasis to best serve our clients with particular specialisation in small/medium companies and charities.

Our Team
Mike Jones FCCA –
Mike is the founder of Emjay. A qualified professional with over forty years experience behind him Mike’s wisdom and insight is as much of an asset to the practice as his technical expertise. Alongside an excellent grounding in business and accountancy Mike’s particular areas of expertise include Business and Tax consultancy and the whole arena of the charitable sector. Mike has been a trustee of a number of national and local charities and has also taken his business and management expertise overseas to India, Colombia and Uganda where he and his wife Pat have visited to assist charities with their finances and management systems on numerous occasions.
Gareth Jones ACMA, ACCA –
Gareth brings his experience in Management Accounting and planning to the team. Qualified with both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Gareth provides management consultancy as well as compliance services. The development of new projects and services is also under Gareth‘s supervision. Areas of particular expertise are the corporate sector, budgeting and financial modelling and the planning and installation of computerised accounting systems. Gareth is also involved with the financial direction of an emerging company within the Golf industry seeking to create resources for the benefit of those less fortunate.
